The Good News of an Exchanged Life – Part 2

New Life

Let’s continue to look at just how good the Good News really is!!!

(Go here for The Good News of an Exchanged Life – Part 1)

I was Dead, but am now Alive

  • But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ… (Eph 2:4-5).

I have God as my Owner

  • Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price… (1Cor. 6:19-20).

I have a New Responsibilty

  • So glorify God in your body (1Cor. 6:20).

I have a New Leader

  • And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air… (Eph 2:1-2).
  • But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ… (Eph 2:4-5).

I have a New Path

  • you once walked, following the course of this world (Eph. 2:2).
  • Jesus said …, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (Joh 14:6).

I have a New Function

  • For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them(Eph 2:10).

I have a New Perspective

  • …and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus… (Eph. 2:6).

I was a Victim, but now I’m a showpiece of God’s Grace

  • The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly (Joh. 10:10).
  • … so that in the coming ages he (God) might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus (Eph 2:7).

  1. Rob,

I recently read with interest some of your blog postings. My wife and I were saved over forty years ago and have been actively involved in a number of house churches during that time. Based on our personal experience and our understanding of the Word of God, we believe that trying to practice “organic” church apart from a divine knowledge and practical application of the cross of Christ is like trying to practice Christianity by the best of your natural ability. In other words, it is spiritually futile because it is not of true faith. With this in mind, I hope your faith will be clarified, encouraged and strengthened by our website http://www.ChristCrucified.info. You will find we have quite a bit of teaching on the “exchanged life” as well as a number of teaching tracts and FAQs that address New Testament church.

    In Christ’s love,
    Peter Newman
